Following last week’s programs, something kept coming to my mind: We cannot be shocked we are in a war. Generations before us have fought for freedom. Now it’s our turn! President Reagan put it eloquently in a 1964 speech he gave, “A Time for Choosing”: |

“You and I know and do not believe that life is so dear and peace so sweet as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery. If nothing in life is worth dying for, when did this begin—just in the face of this enemy? Or should Moses have told the children of Israel to live in slavery under the pharaohs? Should Christ have refused the cross? Should the patriots at Concord Bridge have thrown down their guns and refused to fire the shot heard ’round the world? The martyrs of history were not fools, and our honored dead who gave their lives to stop the advance of the Nazis didn’t die in vain. Where, then, is the road to peace? Well, it’s a simple answer after all.
“You and I have the courage to say to our enemies, ‘There is a price we will not pay.’ ‘There is a point beyond which they must not advance.’ And this—this is the meaning in the phrase of Barry Goldwater’s ‘peace through strength.’ Winston Churchill said, ‘The destiny of man is not measured by material computations. When great forces are on the move in the world, we learn we’re spirits – not animals.’ And he said, ‘There’s something going on in time and space, and beyond time and space, which, whether we like it or not, spells duty.’ You and I have a rendezvous with destiny.
We’ll preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we’ll sentence them to take the last step into a thousand years of darkness.” So, with this in mind, it is not time to shrink back. It is not time to live in fear. Together let us rise to the challenge at hand and we will see the hand of the Lord! |

Prayer: Heavenly Father, today we declare, “There is no fear here! We will live FEAR FREE and FAITH FULL!” Amen! These are turbulent times we live in, but we take comfort in Your words. We don’t let our hearts be troubled because You told us some of these things must take place before Your return. We know that regardless of how much fear the media drums up, You are always with us. You give us strength and courage and therefore we will not live afraid. As the FlashPoint Army, we say it in agreement together: You are our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble. We take refuge under the shadow of Your wings. We are confident because You have not given us a spirit of fear, but rather a spirit of power and love and a sound mind. Because Your perfect love is in our hearts, fear is cast far from us! Lord, we also pray that this time of wars and rumors of wars serves as a wake-up call for Your people. Revive Your Church, Lord. Revive America. We pray that as believers see fear rising, they would meet it head-on with faith. In this time, may the gospel be preached more than ever before, helping people see that they need JESUS. Thank You, Father, for doing exceedingly abundantly above all that we could ask or think, according to the power that works in us. You are mighty and in Your Name we pray. Amen.
